I’ll be the first to admit I don’t like the sun. I try to stay out of it as much as possible. To that end, I’m thinking of setting up a room in the house where I can work out. When I exercise, I like to check on myself and I’m used to having mirrors at the gym where I can exactly that. This means that if I’m to have a workout room, I will need to have mirrors on at least one wall.

In the living area, I feel that overhead built-in lighting generates a lot of heat. Unless the air-conditioning and fans are on high, it means the room is going to be very warm and stuffy. That’s why I prefer table lamps and a few floor lamps strategically placed around the living room and den.

These are warm days we’re having and if I’m to stay out of the sun, I’d like to have the indoors nice and cosy. Well, that’s me! When everyone else is out and about enjoying the sun and getting a tan, I’d much rather stay cool inside with a long tall glass of iced tea, a soft sofa to sink into and a good book in hand.

Tis the season to get out into the fresh air and sunshine. Are you doing anything exciting like taking a long drive vacation, having poolside parties or just hanging out by the beach? We’re not doing anything outdoors because frankly, the sun has gotten too hot here and we just don’t have anywhere to go. going to the park

When my kids were toddlers, I used to take them to the neighborhood park. It’s an interesting and inexpensive way of letting the kids have fun without spending a single dime. Sometimes we’d bring along a ball they can kick, or some golf clubs and balls so they can practise putting. The regular moms at the parks pretty much know each other so it’s nice to chat and unwind, exchange kiddy tales and pick up some great tips and ideas too.

With the days warming up, I’m sure you must be busy planning where to go on a well-deserved vacation. My favorite kind of vacation are All inclusive family vacations where there’s plenty of activities and things to do for everyone in the family. That way, as a parent, I don’t have to worry about who’s getting left out or who doesn’t want to do want but prefers to do something else.

Believe it or not, this is a very common problem when you travel with teens. If they have pretty much the same interests, fine. If not, you’ll find yourself having to break up squabbles and dowse flaring tempers. So yeah, the Riviera Maya is apparently one of the top spots for family vacations. I really must check it out.
