Has the weather felt strange to you lately? I know for a fact that for us, it’s been unseasonally cool and wet for this time of year. It used to be super-hot days and there was just no way the heat would let up, even for a little bit.

But these days, it’s been raining heavily, thunderstorms even, making the nights much, much cooler than ever before. I don’t know but I definitely dig this cooler weather more than those years when we were practically having to endure heat waves in January.

If you’re on the East coast, this is definitely no time to be outdoors. I’ve been watching the news and it sure doesn’t look like a joke out there. The ocean looks ferocious and the winds look hungry. And I’m sure that is not the kind of weather you want to be wandering about in.

So I hope you all stay hunkered down indoors because I think that’s the safest place to be right now. My thoughts are with you guys and I hope Irene gets tired and blows over soon.

OMG, isn’t the heat just crazy?! I read that temperatures are set to climb even higher this weekend. Ugh!

Well, it looks like there’s only one thing to do. Slap on the sunscreen before you step outside, even if it’s just for a little while. Goodness knows how bad those rays! So you are going to need a higher SPF to do the job.

It is so hot it’s impossible to step outside. Even in the shade, the heat is unbearable. To me, at least. I know lots of people love the sun and the heat. I’m not one of them. I think you can practically crack an egg on the sidewalk and it’ll fry. It’s that hot.

Is all of this an effect of global warming, I wonder?!

Blinding

We’re getting fierce electric storms every evening now. I was driving home along the highway when huge, and I mean deadly huge, streaks of blinding lightning cracked up the entire evening sky, sometimes in multiple locations.

The thunder that followed each sky-splitting streak of lightning was deafening, to say the least. It was scary and everyone was speeding to get home. I think it’s crazy to speed in such heavy rain. I was driving like a tortoise because of the blinding flashes of lightning.

Down with the flu

The weather finally got to me and I was down with the flu. Darn the chills and runny nose, headaches, sneezes and coughs.

I told you there was something weird about the weather these days. It’s just not normal to have these extreme days of heat and humidity alternating with thunderous rain and sudden temperature drops.

I have the windows open one minute to let in the cool air. The next thing I know, it’s so hot I have to shut them again to keep out the house from turning into a furnace.

Weary days

Well, it looks like I lost my entire post the minute I hit the publish button without first saving a draft. I just lurve this new WP upgrade. It’s been eating up my posts, no bones to even spit it, just great! So here’s that post again, I’m typing it up again.

Call me weird but I love dark, rainy mornings. Especially on the weekend when I’m feeling lazy and laid back and don’t really want to get up. So I kinda want to ease into my morning and not have it burst in on me and sting my eyes when I open the windows, know what I mean?

Migraine

I’ve been nursing an on-and-off migraine for the past 3 days in a row. What gives? I’m inclined to blame it on the weather. All it takes is for me to step outside in the 90+ degrees and I’ll come back in the house with the start of a headache. Which soon graduates to a full-blown migraine. Not good!
