I recently heard from a friend that Topamax, the drug used to treat epileptic children and adults, and also for migraine, may be responsible for causing birth defects such as cleft lips. Wow, that’s a scary thought!

Migraine

I’ve been nursing an on-and-off migraine for the past 3 days in a row. What gives? I’m inclined to blame it on the weather. All it takes is for me to step outside in the 90+ degrees and I’ll come back in the house with the start of a headache. Which soon graduates to a full-blown migraine. Not good!

We visited the pet shop last week and we saw a little Corgi pup. It was so cute and short that we couldn’t resist squealing over it. The pet shop is our favorite place to go because it’s always filled with cute yipping (sometimes sleeping) puppies. We’re not much of cat people so puppies it is.

Recently, a neighbor living down the road got a new Rottweiler pup. It’s such a coincidence because I know a family who just lost their Rottweiler and are now looking for a new pup.

This pup is the new talk of the neighborhood because he can be heard yipping every night. He’s a bouncy thing and won’t stay put. He even managed to escape from the neighbor’s yard to chase birds. The neighbor is definitely going to have his hands full for the next few weeks.

… while I was shopping at the grocery store, I bumped into one of my old friends. She’s working there as a saleswoman and it surprised me because it made me wonder about her daughter’s transportation. Her husband spent most of his time outstation until he came back recently but he found a new job. So who picks her daughter up from school? But she didn’t have a difficult time looking for transportation because her daughter’s friend had suggested that they walk home together.

Wow. Her life sure is convenient.

Yesterday, our phone got disconnected and every time I dialed to call for pizza, I got the busy signal. Turned out, there was something wrong with our phone and when I tried to call using the cellphone, there was no reception. At last, we had to have dinner very late because it usually takes the delivery guy half an hour to reach our house. Ever have anything like this happen to you?

You know, it’s interesting how small the world has become. Everyone’s flying here and there, and moving here and there, so much so I’m having trouble keeping up with who’s where . I guess towards the end of summer is the time when most folks come home from their vacations and move to new homes.

I have a friend who’s moving to North Carolina in the fall and for months now, she’s been busy checking out the homes in Luxury Durham, NC Apartments and lots of others as well. She’s looked at so many homes and they’re all beautiful in their own way. Now it’s just a question of their rental budget.

So I think she’s having a hard time deciding between Rent High Point, NC Apartments and Charlotte, NC Apartments. I guess she’s going to have to wait till her husband returns from overseas before they can jointly make a decision. I wish I could help her but I honestly would be torn between the two as well.

old foggies’ hangout

My dad loves to hang out at the mall. First thing every morning, he heads over there to meet up with his old foggies and that’s where they’ll spend their entire day, having meals and coffee, strolling around and sitting around chatting about everything under the sun.

People their age seem to love talking about health and I guess with all the pharmacies and drugstores there, it’s easy for them to check out the latest products too. Some of these old folks even even go online to compare prices and they know more about kendall briefs than you or me, and then they will pass the information along to the rest of the group. How cute!

baby bulldogs

For more than a week now, the kids and I have been stalking a new brood of baby bulldogs since they were born. OOoh, they are so cute and round, like little balls of fur, I just can’t help slowing down my car (like Cruella de Vil stalking those baby dalmatians, bwahaha) so we can get a better look.

The owners have been very protective and keeping the babies in a covered tent, partly to keep them out of the intense heat and sun and sometimes thunderstorms in the evenings while letting the parents roam freely about their yard.

We didn’t get a chance to check in on them over the weekend. One of my kids’ friends say that the baby bulldogs aren’t there any more. Maybe they’ve all been sold *sobs*!
