a peacock made of rice

I couldn’t resist taking a shot of this Deepavali display at 1 Utama yesterday. It’s such a beautifully done piece of rice art.

I was quite surprised to see that the entire peacock is made of grains of rice. I’ve never seen anything like this before, the rice art on the floor, yes but not a three-dimensional figure in rice.

How cool is that!

A whole new year means a whole new start which also means a brand new color for our gate. Our current color has lasted for quite a number of years but we think it’s time for a change.

We dropped by a few handymarts but only found wall paint. We’ve seen those Nippon All-Weather Glossy paint advertisements but how come they’re not in the stores?

Maybe we got the wrong stores. Anyways, we decided on green, purple and yellow because it seems to be very festive and people visiting us can find our house easily.

We girls are hoping to get the voluntary Boy Scouts, who go around the neighborhood sometime during the month to help us paint the gate.

What do you think of the colors??
