I’ve been rushing around last weekend as usual, picking up and dropping off my kids, doing my groceries…I didn’t think much of it although there’s this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that every time I step into my car, I’m burning gas and money!
It was hard not to notice though that compared with the usual weekend scenario, traffic was smooth, I got to where I was going quicker, and I didn’t have to jostle anyone for a parking spot.
Strange indeed! I couldn’t figure out and put it down to just folks being out of town or sleeping in due to Euro 2008. Then I read in the papers that the toll gates are recording fewer cars on the roads, public transportation is bursting at the seams…
OMG, sounds like the end of going out just for the sake of going out. People are actually staying home because they can’t afford to go out? Gosh, has it come to this?
