Ajahn Brahm’s talk at One World Hotel
I’m so glad the kids and I got to attend the talk Saturday night by Ajahn Brahmavamso. We’re huge fans of Ajahn Brahm, a brilliant speaker who is also a Buddhist monk and Abbot of Bodhinyana Monastery in Serpertine, Perth in Western Australia.
It was Raine’s and Skye’s first time meeting Ajahn Brahm, and they even got his autography later. Like all kids, they think all talks are boring.
But Saturday’s talk about ‘Finding the Path to Peace and Happiness’ was brilliant and the kids were laughing from start to finish and say they can’t wait to go to his next talk.
See the thing is Ajahn Brahm has a truly rare gift of translating the Buddha’s teachings into such witty and funny stories it’s impossible not to be totally captivated by them.
The beauty of his talks is that while they are based on the teachings of the Buddha, they are so contemporary and relevant to our everyday lives that everyone, Buddhists and non-Buddhists alike, can use them to improve their lives.
I’ll be sharing with you the key points of Ajahn Brahm’s talk about how to find peace and happiness. Yeah, everyone wants to be happy, why not? So stick around.
