no-Chinese-food challenge
We’ve succeeded in getting through the entire fifteen days of Chinese New Year without once stepping into a Chinese restaurant. A friend of mine put me up to this challenge simply because she doesn’t believe in being ripped off by the seasonal increase in prices restaurants charge for auspiciously-named dishes.
Which makes sense to me. It doesn’t mean we have to eat Chinese just because it’s CNY, although for those who seldom eat out, it’s a great excuse to patronize Chinese restaurants at this time of year.
But look at it this way, Chinese restaurants are here all year so why pay an arm and a leg to compete with the CNY crowd for hurriedly-cooked food that often lacks quality?
We’ve still been eating out but at Friday’s, Carl’s Jr, Subway and Vietnam Kitchen where the food quality and prices are constant. Nice  .
