Tis the season you’ve got to be careful with your wallet and handbag. I don’t just mean that in the sense of spending. I also mean to be watchful of people who might be eye-ing your handbag and planning to take it away from you.
A lady I know was just walking to her car parked outside her house. Yes, her own house when two guys on a motorcycle came up and tried to grab her handbag. In the brief struggle, she and her handbag fell to the ground.
The guys rode off when they couldn’t get a hold of her bag while she sat there crying. By the time her neighbors came running out from hearing her cries, the culprits had fled the scene.
She was lucky she didn’t lose a thing. Of course, she was traumatized! So the thing is to be wary of people who might be lurking around even in places where they least expect them, like in your own neighborhood.
Try to have your wits about you at all times, which could mean staying off that distracting cellphone when you’re out on the streets.
