Confession, I’ve been eating too much and exercising too little. Yes, I do have a gym regime that I’m really serious about. But this past week of cool mornings have been keeping me snug in bed long after my alarms go off! Guilty, guilty!
It’s a joke amongst my friends that sometimes the only exercise we get is walking from one end of the mall to the other and back, in air-conditioned comfort, with nary a drop of perspiration on our brow. And I think most of us are guilty of this.
I agree it does take a lot of willpower and persistence to drag yourself to the gym. What got me started was I did one of those “how healthy are you” kind of quizzes online and it said “if you want to avoid certain health conditions, you should start something”.
I was like what? I’m not overweight. I don’t smoke or drink. And to get a reading like this was rather scary! It made me jump straight up and drive to the gym and I haven’t stopped exercising since.
The good thing though is once you get started and you stick with it for the first few months, it makes you feel so good you just want to keep going back and working out more and more. Well, that’s my experience anyways
