hark, thou saucy pasta

My good buddy from Scotland and I discovered this neat little eating place a while back. All-Star Sports, on the ground floor of Midvalley, is a place for sports fans to gather and watch football and other games over a few beers.

By day, it’s a just a regular old restaurant, not very popular because I guess no one actually knew they served lunch.

But recently, since they started promoting themselves with a menu stand outside, it’s definitely seeing a much bigger lunch crowd. We’re a little sad though because we used to have practically the whole place to ourselves ;) !

Right, the thing to order is their Fettucine Alfredo. The fettucine is bathed in an abundantly rich sauce that sends your tastebuds straight to heaven. I’m not kidding. I took one bite and I was hooked and I just find myself walking in there whenever I need my pasta fix.

They’ve also got a lighter version on their special lunch menu called the Pasta Ai Fungi which is spaghetti with fresh oyster and black mushrooms. A nice vegetarian twist but I find this dish rather dry and the taste of the mushrooms a bit too strong for my liking.

For the folks who aren’t pasta freaks, this Chinese-style Crispy Chicken with Rice is pretty tasty though the chicken isn’t altogether crispy so the name is a bit misleading. The onion and deep-fried chicken chunks drizzled in sweet-sour sauce does pack quite a crunch though.
