I was at the bank today with a friend. She wanted to do a fixed deposit. When her number came up, she was attended by an officer who took down her details and filled out the forms.
Then a strange thing happened. The officer gave her the completed form and a new number to get in line to the teller counter.
So what’s a bank officer these days? A glorified form filler?? Because that’s all she did!
Between the phone company I went to earlier and the bank, I’d say we’re a society obsessed with keeping our customers waiting in line up.
They even have a fancy name for this brand of efficiency – specialization! Specializing in making customers wait in line! Hmm, well done, we must be moving ahead?!!
