Whatever you choose to call it - Mooncake Festival, Lantern Festival or Mid-Autumn Festival, the moon will be out in all its glory tonight.

It’s at its brightest and roundest tonight on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Lunar calendar… and this is it. Tonight!

In the old days, families would gather outside the house, nibbling mooncakes and sipping Chinese tea around a table, to gaze at the moon. Some say if you look hard enough, you might even see a fairy or two dance across the moon.

All around, brightly-lit lanterns would flicker, pale in comparison to the moon. But tonight, nothing else even come close to the moon in terms of beauty and brilliance.

I received this box of mooncakes from a friend. He obviously has great taste. Just look at this beautiful two-tiered box.

On the top tier are four mooncakes of different flavors in smaller glittery boxes. On the bottom, surprise! there is a porcelain teapot and two matching teacups. Aren’t they gorgeous :D ?
