fireworks competition
We missed the opening day of the fireworks competition last Sunday because we were out shopping late. We certainly weren’t going to miss Australia’s entry Wednesday night.

Steev loaded Truck (my beloved car
) up with all his camera equipment and we headed out on the 45-minute drive to Putrajaya. A pretty long drive but we had our CD blasting, and me and the girls were bawling our heads off to our favorite songs!
We got there with barely 10 minutes to spare. Cutting it a little too close, I know, since we had no idea where would be a good vantage point for Steev to set up his camera. We just pretty much went with the flow of the thousands of vehicles that were already there before us.
Part of the main highway had turned into a huge parking lot 4 lanes deep so we just stopped behind the last car on the outer lane and turned off the engine. Very presumptuous of us but hey, everyone else was out of their cars either walking or sitting on their car roofs!
Seemed like we’d picked a good spot. Steev and camera equipment set off across the road to a high spot overlooking the Putrajaya lake. We got a good view though we were pretty far off from the lake to see some of the displays going on closer to the ground.
Tonight will be Italy’s turn to show off their fireworks prowess. If you’re game to take a night drive out to Putrajaya, the show starts at 10:00pm sharp and will last for about 20 minutes.
