no soggy noodles for us, thanks
We try to avoid going to Ikea especially during their sale. But since we were up and dressed early this morning, why not? We haven’t had their el-cheapo breakfast in a long time. It’s a pretty fun concept. I mean, where else can you get breakfast and coffee/tea for rm1 these days?
Besides I like the idea of lazing around on a Sunday morning enjoying an endless supply of coffee/tea refills. The way the furniture is set up makes us feel like we’re lounging around your own kitchen table. It’s kinda nice and I get to OD on enough coffee to keep me hyper all day
(as if I’m not hyper enough already!).
This morning, the weekend crowd beat us to it and we ended up in a super-long line. We peeked at what other people were eating, and from the number of half-finished plates of food left, it was apparent that the food might not have been very good.
So what were they serving today? See, the thing is they don’t have a sign that tells you what they’re serving, and they serve something different every day. So you won’t know till you get up to the top of the line.
The fact that it’s only rm1 means beggars can’t be choosers so it’s take it or leave it. I appreciate that you can’t expect much but still, if you can’t serve something decent for rm1, then put in some quality and charge rm1.50. I don’t think people would mind!
What we saw today looked like fried spaghetti. No, wait, says Raine, I think it’s fried Maggi noodles. Whatever it was, it looked soggy. We didn’t think we could go through with so we gave up our spot in the line and headed to Irfan’s instead.

I’ve never been to an Ikea that served food! I didn’t know they did that. We bought a lot of our daughter’s furniture at Ikea.

Actually they do have cafeterias in many of their stores here in Asia as well as in Canada. They serve Western and Swedish food. Their Swedish meatballs are pretty good

Interesting and I thought the Ikeas in the US don’t serve food. Are the portions big enough for the big guys though?

I like eating at Ikea, the portions are big enough in the US, and you can’t beat the price.

Oh, so they do serve food. I guess we’re talking about Ikeas in different places then, huh?
