Pirates of the Caribbean 3 - At World’s End

So finally we had our free tickets in hand. We were thrilled that an invitation to a pre-movie cocktail party came with our tickets. This came as a pleasant surprise to us.
Happily we showed up an hour before the movie and were led straight to the cocktails. Mmm, sweet! This is the life, we chirped!
In the cinema, we found a bag of popcorn and a Coke on each seat. Man, they were really pampering us. Didn’t we just stuff ourselves out there, and you’re offering us more food?
Okay, on with the movie. With all that excitement leading up to the release of Pirates 3, I’m glad this sequel turned out to be what we had hoped. We were completely absorbed.
My main complaint is that there was too much of Captain Barbosa and too little of Jack Sparrow. We love Johnny Depp and his endearing effeminate moves. I really wish they’d worked in more of him.
By the way, I noticed Captain Sparrow’s filty black teeth seemed to have turned a pearly white. I wonder if that was done on purpose, or if the keygrip was sleeping on the job.
Orlando Bloom was, as usual, the reason I was swooning so much. He’s gotten more macho since Pirates 1. Kiera Knightley, on the other hand, could use a couple more burgers though. She’s gotten way too skinny.
But hey, the special effects were great and so was the movie. Kept us on the edge of our seats without going overboard (oops!). We really enjoyed it and couldn’t stop talking about it all night. I’m guessing we’ll be talking about it till the next sequel.
Oh, we stayed back just to watch the happy ending that came after the credits. Almost everyone else had left the cinema. They didn’t know about that last bit, Will Turner’s homecoming. We knew, so we just hung back and waited. Well worth the wait
.
