quick pasta fix

There are days when I really need a quick pasta fix. There’s this little place tucked away behind the Jusco wine shop at 1 Utama where you, if you’re a pasta lover like me, can get your choice of pasta carbonara or alfredo.
It’s called the California Kitchen or something like that. I like the casualness about the place. You can just stroll up and grab an empty chair at the kitchen bar, place your order and watch the chef toss up your order.
The service is very quick. I usually go there to grab a quick bite before going to the movies. Another thing I like about it is that the portions are very small. If you’re particular hungry or just need a fix without involving too many calories, this is the place.
As you can imagine, the prices are very affordable, even for their steaks, chops and salads because the portions are small.
Lately I notice they’ve added an Asian section to their predominantly Western menu. There’s a whole range of fried noodles - Thai, Indonesia, local - to choose from. I can’t comment on these until I’ve tried them myself. But from the pictures on the menu, I don’t think they’d be half bad.
