who let the dogs out?

Lately, there have been stray dogs hanging around the neighbourhood. People are very cruel to the dogs. Some of the dogs were involved in hit-and-run accidents and have injured their legs or suffer from internal bleeding.

Why would anyone call the city council? They would just take the dogs back to the pound and shoot them dead. This is what I hate the most.

Innocent dogs who are just looking for food and shelter have to be shot dead for lingering outside someone’s house?? I really hoped that none of this would have to happen.

Usually after a few days, the stray dogs would wander off to another neighbourhood. Then today one of my worst fears happened.

While me and my friends were coming home from a classmate’s house, I saw a normal old city council truck turning the corner.

But the movement from the back of the truck caused me to look closer. It was a small cage chained to the back of the truck and there were a few dogs packed inside there like sardines in a can.

I am an animal lover and I hate to see the population of animals decreasing. But what can I say or do?
