a motley christmas

Just a fortnight till Christmas. The malls are packed with people trying to buy Christmas presents and the vehicles trying to rush to town cause traffic jams from morning till night. Especially with the Buskers Festival in town, most of the people dash from one place to another to catch them performing.

The shopping centers almost look like winter wonderland with all the christmas decorations draped everywhere. Don’t forget the main attraction in the malls - Christmas trees, where everyone is snapping photographs of each other while they pose beside the brightly lit tree. You don’t see these people so excited about any other occasion.

There are also many events going on in most of the malls. Little stages, used for doing acts or tents for selling cute Christmas presents are set up inside the mall.

We also didn’t forget to watch the Buskers Festival. The schedule for their performances were a bit jumbled so when we were eagerly looking forward to watching them, we were told that they weren’t performing.

Boy, were we disappointed! We checked their websites and pamphlets to find our favourite performers, the Motley Two. The Motley Two is made up of two guys, Ladderman and Mulletman.

After waiting for them at where they were supposed to perform but didn’t arrive, we decided to give up and stop chasing them around.

But we, crazy fans of the Motley Two, continued to check the schedule until we couldn’t resist trying to catch them performing. On the last day of the Buskers Festival, we went down to town to watch the performers.

It was raining slightly and the performance was to be held outdoors. When we arrived, we saw some of the people were trying to sweep the rainwater away. While waiting for the rain to stop, we had dinner inside the shopping center. We got there in time for the performance.

And omg!, one of the Motley Two actually recognized me from the other day that we went to watch them.

They juggled bowling pins on a ladder and suitcase, used knives and made jokes (people didn’t always laugh at their jokes because they did not quite understand them).

They did many kinds of tricks. It was a hair-raising, fast-moving and exciting performance though they didn’t use the unicycle. Can’t wait to watch them again!
